I keep returning to the way Lem Bertch locks the tempo at a deceptively steady 120 BPM yet dials the energy to an implausible ten, forging a pressure-cooker atmosphere that feels far more relentless than the metronome suggests. Anchored in 4A, the harmonic architecture is tight and unforgiving, letting every synthesized stab and kick drum land with cold, industrial precision and no hope of escape. In my sets, this is peak-time ammunition disguised as a mid-tempo groove, the kind of weapon I deploy when the room is already overheating and I need white-knuckle tension without simply nudging the tempo higher. It carves out a warehouse-sized void around itself—lean, merciless, and utterly focussed—proving that true brutality in techno is a question of force and space, not mere speed.
